Position Available: Sussex County School Board Consultant

In this role, the Sussex County School Board Consultant will act as the primary liaison between First State Educate’s central leadership and the unique communities within Sussex County. The consultant will leverage local insights to tailor professional development programs and outreach efforts that align with the specific challenges and opportunities in the area. By working closely with our central team, this consultant will contribute to a cohesive strategy that supports First State Educate’s mission across Delaware, while also addressing the distinct dynamics of Sussex County.

As part of a state-wide initiative, the Sussex County Consultant will coordinate with other county consultants to share best practices and collaborate on strategies that drive educational improvements across Delaware. This role requires a deep commitment to community engagement and educational equity, with an emphasis on building trust and sustainable relationships within the community. The consultant will engage in regular dialogue with school board members, district leaders, and local families to ensure that the programs and resources offered are directly relevant to Sussex County’s needs.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess excellent time management skills, experience in community organizing, and the ability to work independently. As a self-starter with established connections in Sussex County’s public schools, the consultant will bring valuable local insights and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Additionally, the candidate must reside in Sussex County to maintain close ties with the community and respond effectively to local needs. While bilingual skills are preferred, they are not mandatory.
